Michel Goulet Les Lieux Communs

Doris C. Freedman Plaza
February 1 - May 31, 1990

About the Exhibition

Les Lieux Communs by Michel Goulet (b. 1944, Asbestos, Canada) is a circle of 12 galvanized steel and granite chairs. Among the chairs are smaller related objects that speak of intimate and associative environments. Viewers may investigate these and use them to put together their own narrative. Goulet’s artistic concerns are addressed in Les Lieux Communs through a situation that enables the viewer to have a poetic experience that is directly related to that individual’s own actions.
