About the Exhibition

Robert Ressler (b. 1954, Brooklyn, NY) specializes in large-scale outdoor sculpture. His Step by Step, on view on a traffic island near Madison Square Park, is made of two large, carved-wood forms. Each rises 20 feet from the ground and rests on 32-inch square bases. The two forms resemble crutch-like shapes. The combined weight of the two forms is approximately 3,000 pounds.
