About the Exhibition
Arnold B. Glimcher from the Pace Gallery refers to Carmen, a moving stabile by Alexander Calder (1898-1976, b. Lawnton, PA), as filling its site, Doris C. Freedman Plaza, “with humor and joy and…a welcome image for the park.” The top part moves in the wind and the petal-like forms are white, red, and yellow.
