About the Exhibition
Sol LeWitt (1928–2007, b. Hartford, CT) was a leader in the movements of Minimalism and Conceptualism, and his work ranges from photography and works on paper to wall drawings. It also includes three-dimensional structures that explore different geometric forms such as pyramids and cubes.
The large-scale open cube of 3 x 3 x 1 performs a simple numerical operation—the addition and subtraction of one element—while simultaneously altering its configuration.
