About the Exhibition
Knox Martin (b.1923, Barranquilla, Columbia) painted Venus in 1970 as a commission from City Walls. The twelve-story mural is painted along the south side of Bayview Correctional Facility and depicts geometric shapes and colors diagonally interweaving.
Commissioned by City Walls and restored with the support of the Public Art Fund, Inc. Paint was donated by Golden Artist Colors.
