Brigid Kennedy Naked Raid

Port Authority
January 11 - March 12, 1983

About the Exhibition

Brigid Kennedy (b. 1951, Buffalo, NY) was compelled by objects and by the biomorphic references inherent in certain shapes when working on this project. She composed seven “bombers,” suspended by fishing wire, which denote both aquatic life and wartime airplanes. In stressing the organic archetypes for contemporary industrial machinery, Kennedy humanizes her subjects and subverts their military associations.
