At the corner of 10th Avenue and 15th Street, the sounds of clinking of glasses, chatter, and a mix of music from a nearby party were audible, but from where? Intangible, but for these low-level sounds, Distant Party, a sound installation by Tony Matelli, encouraged listeners to wonder -Where is the party? Who is there? What are people celebrating? And in turn, to reflect upon one's desire to be part of a larger group, and to be invited to "the party." Artist
