Fixated on fictive narratives of glamorous lifestyles of the rich and famous from sightings or photos, Jason Dodge creates installations and objects that provide evidence of bourgeois parties and leisure activities.
Dodge constructs every aspect of his leisure narratives, including abandoned clothes, pieces of furniture, logos of designer brands, exclusive country clubs, and monograms. These mundane objects become "style templates," something that helps build a structure for a narrative, but does not necessarily layout a specific plot. Rather, by creating an aura of lavish parties of the social elite, Dodge hopes viewers can recreate their own fantasy narratives based on the objects.
